After the completion of the new building, it will serve as the high-tech zone of the Second Affiliated Hospital of the Soviet Union. It will be fully integrated with the Second Hospital of the Soviet Union, with more complete functions and finer services. It will be based in the high-tech zone and radiate all of Suzhou. Construction began in April 2015. The southern plot of the entire campus is newly acquired. It is planned to be a first-phase comprehensive medical building, sewage treatment station, liquid oxygen station, etc.; the north block is the original land for the hospital, and it is planned to be the second-phase ward building, scientific research office and the first phase. The overall planned construction area is about 128,000 m² it is positioned as a comprehensive tertiary hospital, with an average daily outpatient volume of 3000-3500 and a total number of beds of 1,000 beds.
The hospital has been responsible for the medical and health services of more than 300,000 people in towns and villages in the northwestern part of Suzhou City and surrounding areas. The hospital is expected to complete the project in the first half of 2018 and start trial operation of the project, gradually completing the relocation of the new building.
